What is a Wolverine Skid Steer Attachment?
A Wolverine skid steer attachment is a piece of construction equipment specifically designed to attach to your skid steer. It's easy to install and allows you to complete larger tasks in little time, making it an essential part of any professional's toolkit.
Wolverine is one of the biggest brands when it comes to skid steer attachments. They make durable, dependable attachments that are perfect for any job.
Not only do they make equipment that lasts and can take a beating, they also have a huge selection of different tools. Everything from tillers to concrete mixers which are all powered by your skid steer.
Our Favorite Attachments From Wolverine
There are many different types of attachments available from Wolverine. While we're not going to list them all, we are going to go through the ones we've used and our favorites so far.
Tree puller.
I love the Wolverine Skid Steer Tree and Post Puller Attachment! It's a great tool for removing small trees, up to 6" in diameter, although I've found that if the tree is between 7 and 8 inches it can still do the trick.
The weight of the attachment is a few hundred pounds (293 lbs to be exact), so you'll need a hand getting it mounted on your skid steer. With an overall length of 45 inches and a width of 31 inches, it's easy to maneuver in tight areas.
The puller features two 2.5" x 8" hydraulic cylinders for plenty of grip on the tree trunk, and can pull both posts up to 8" and trees up to 6" diameter with ease. I'm not thrilled with the swing angle, but you can compensate for it by having a maneuverable skid steer. The pulling arms have a maximum swing angle of 34 degrees. Depending on your skid steer loader, it also has a vertical reach of up to 254 inches, which isn't bad overall.
Tiller.
Another great tool from Wolverine is their skid steer tiller attachments. Whether you are tilling a garden or breaking up hard-packed soil, the Wolverine tiller attachment will help you get the job done quickly and efficiently. It weighs in at over 500 lbs and its around 86" long, but the actual tilling area is just shy of that.
While it's capable of tilling 7" deep, it does a much better job around the 5" mark. I've found that if you go too deep, the tines don't really grab the soil effectively.
It has a rubber shock-absorber to cushion your skid steer from any jarring motions and two hydraulic motors that help it move forward quickly without bogging down or stalling out.
The tiller features 16 carbide-tipped teeth for cutting through tough soil and can
Landscape rake.
This attachment helps smooth out newly filled land or break down large clumps of dirt with its adjustable angle blades that move back and forth as needed.
Now keep in mind this isn't your ordinary landscape rake you find on baseball fields; this is probably the most powerful landscape rake I've ever seen. It'll remove rocks between 3/4" and 1" with no problems.
It's heavy too. So you'll need skid steer forks to move it around your shop or just set it where you want to store it.
Concrete mixer.
Last on my list is the concrete mixer by Wolverine. While it's great, I love it, it's really up to you whether you need it for the work you do.
If you do decide to get one, the concrete mixer by Wolverine is a great option. Wolverine designed it for heavy-duty work and features large cylinders that provide plenty of power and torque even when mixing thick slurry.
It has an adjustable height base that allows it to fit on different skid steer models and can produce up to 12 cubic yards of concrete per hour. It also has a maximum working pressure of 3,500 PSI and can mix up to 1/2" aggregate.
